The new Hyundai Palisade was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2018, while the all-new eight-seater takes on the role of SUV star in the Korean brand's lineup.
Built on a new platform, the automaker says the palisade – to be built in Ulsan, Korea – has "exceptional second and third row livability" as well as a "generous cargo space".
Seating above the Santa Fe, the newcomer measures 4,981 mm long, 1,976 mm wide and 1,750 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
In the United States, the energy will come from a 3.8-liter V6 petrol engine with Atkinson cycle, transmitted to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission (two- and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered ).
It is interesting to note that the Palisade presents what Hyundai describes as a new roof vent diffuser design that can provide a partially or totally diffused airflow to the rear pbadengers. This, says the brand, provides a quieter rear air conditioning airflow, draft-free operation and a more even distribution of air.
Inside, the US model will feature a 10.25-inch touch screen badociated with a 12.3-inch full digital TFT instrument cluster. The interior has seven USB outlets, including ports for second-row occupants, based on the front seatbacks. Up to 16 cupholders are offered.
