WhatsApp has recently made its iOS beta app available to the public. At present, the company is currently testing a new feature that will allow iPhone users to view videos uploaded to WhatsApp directly in the push notification panel.
This means that users will not have to open the application to view a video that is sent to them via an individual chat or in a group chat, but rather to watch the video directly via the notification panel.
This comes after Apple announced the removal of all WhatsApp app apps from the App Store.
The reports suggest that any iOS beta user with 2.18.102.5 should see this new feature.
Details about the functionality of the feature on the notification panel have not been shared yet. However, the WhatsApp beta tracker claims that stable iOS app users can expect to receive the feature soon via an update from the App Store.
There is still no word on a beta or stable deployment for Android users.
With the feature of playing videos in notifications being tested in beta, users will be able to do more without opening the WhatsApp app.
