Giovanni Solinas's men begin their African safari with a home encounter against Zimamoto during the preliminaries
The Kaizer Chiefs are expected to face a relatively unknown Zimamoto in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Amakhosi's players were manhandled by goalkeeper and captain Itumeleng Khune following the team's 2-1 defeat against Orlando Pirates in the semifinals of the Telkom Knockout Cup last weekend.
The situation has recently deteriorated for the giants of Soweto. While all fingers continue to point fingers at the technical team, the players have not done enough on the field either.
Publisher's choice
Giovanni Solinas knows that he must reverse the situation sooner to ease the pressure in which the club is located. Beat Zimamoto is not negotiable.
Zimamoto only makes his second appearance in the continental football, which means that they are not as experienced as Amakhosi, but the fact that they have qualified for two successive seasons means that they do not can not be underestimated.

Squads and news from the team
The leaders have registered 24 players for the tournament and, although they have big stars in the current team, Solinas raised a few eyebrows when he surprisingly left out Kgotso Moleko and Gustavo Paez of his team.
Besides the duo, Wiseman Meyiwa and Joseph Molangoane are among the players who have not been included in the list.
The reason is that Meyiwa is still recovering at the hospital after being involved in a car accident, while Molangoane has not yet fully recovered from a leg fracture suffered at beginning of the season.

They crashed during the preliminary rounds, probably because it was more like a learning curve.
Zimamoto won a national title in 2016, while Amakhosi has four league titles since PSL's creation in 1996.
The leaders have not gone past the knockout stages of the CAF competitions since their 2001 Mandela Cup Winners' Cup.
