The new BMW X7 and a demonstration of third-row seats

In 2018, the Los Angeles Auto Show saw the introduction of BMW's largest SUV – the new X7. It was also the most visited model of the BMW stand, with lines of people waiting in turn to experience the luxury SUV.

As you can see from the previous photos, the design is polarizing, but in person, the grille is somehow adapted to the general design of the front. This is also a different approach to BMW design compared to large competitors grids that tend to extend even more vertically or horizontally.

The back is certainly easier to look at and protect from many critics. The highlight is of course the tailgate and the loading area that allow for easier loading and plenty of space. There's also an awesome button called "MAX" that lowers the seats in the third row and pushes the second row forward for greater cargo capacity. Another smart button on the liftgate lowers the car for easier loading.

Speaking of the third row of seats, we worked with Danny from BMW USA to help us test clearance for the head and legs. Being 6 "3 in height, it is the ideal client to see until you can push the bench limit of the third row.The result is in the video below.

To make life easier at the rear, BMW has included its own air conditioning controls, a small moonroof and a set of Type C USB charging ports.

The base model X7 xDrive40i is powered by a turbocharged three-cylinder engine developing 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. The top xDrive50i is equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 turbocharged 456 horsepower and a torque of 479 lb-ft. The X7 xDrive40i and xDrive50i models are both equipped as standard with an all-wheel drive, an electronic power steering and an automatic ZF eight-speed gearbox.

A pneumatic suspension is standard, but the customer can also choose the dynamic handling unit with high performance brakes, adaptive suspension. The X7 xDrive50i also has a sporty rear differential.

The price starts at $ 73,900 for the X7 xDrive40i and $ 92,600 for the X7 xDrive50i before the destination.
