The cap – Griquas announced the signing of 11 new players.
The Kimberley-based union has attracted seven new players and four strikers before the 2019 season.
The long-distance players are Anthony Volmink (Lions), Grant Hermanus, Michal Hasnar, Eduan Keyter (all WPs), Keanu Vers (EP), Tinus de Beer (Blue Bulls) and Chris Smit (Maties).
Attackers include Victor Sekekete (bulls), Cody Bbadon (griffins), Johan Momsen (Maties) and Khwezi Mona (southern kings).
Five of the players – De Beer, Haznar, Smit, Momsen and Mona – are expected to arrive in Kimberley in April, after having fulfilled their obligations to their current teams.
Griquas also announced that the Edwin Sbad Center, who had made a short stint at the Currie Cup last year, has seen an extension of contract. He has already played for Boland.
Griquas Coach Brent Janse van Rensburg commented:
"Welcome to the players who have already arrived with us, we hope they will enjoy their stay here and add the value required to create a competition for positions on our team.
"We are also looking forward to welcoming the players who are finishing their engagements with their current teams, we all have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are progressing regularly." We are on the right track and we need to stay focused on process, "said Janse van Rensburg.
