J. Cole just said XXL in his new cover story that he has plans to inundating the game with music in 2019, and this apparently includes more than just his own projects. Sources close to Young Thug has just confirmed that Cole will serve as executive producer on the new Thugger album, and that the couple has already started recording sessions in New York.

The Cole and Thug couple do not come exactly from the left field, Cole co-signing Thug for a while. Just after announcing that he would bring the rapper from Atlanta with opened during his KOD tour in 2018, Cole said radio host Angie Martinez how much he is a fan of Thug's work.

"He's just sick," said Cole. "If you want to talk about Thug as an artist, he's an innovator, you can call him a rapper mumbling whatever you want, but if you know the skills and the art of rap, and you know how do you put the words together, you know pockets, you know how to sink, you know the things that he does with his voice, dude is a genius. "

It's unclear if Cole is working on the latest project that Thug has teased, Barter 7, or an entirely new concept. The album follows Thug's EP 2018, On the rvn.
