Bentley lifted the veil on his new Continental GT Cabriolet, announcing it "pinnacle open-top grand tourer".
This version of the third generation model that we sampled in the July 2019 edition of CAR magazine, is powered by the same 6.0-liter Twinturbo W12 gasoline engine that had been used for the first time in British manufacturer Bentayga's high-end SUV. But like its fixed-roof brother, the GT C produces 467 kW (20 kW more than the Bentayga) and 900 Nm of torque, which is sent to the four corners via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Despite structural improvements, the 2414-kilogram Continental GT has a 160 kg penalty over the GT, Bentley claims a 0 to 100 km / h time of 3.8 seconds (one tenth of a second shorter than the coupe) and a top speed of 333 km / h.
Of course, this model is distinguished by its custom folding roof, which can be defined in seven different shades or special tweed finish. It takes 19 seconds for the Z-fold unit to install or deploy at a speed of up to 50 km / h.
A newly designed neckwarming ventilation system, steering wheel, heated seats and armrests help warm the front occupants while driving downhill in cold weather. The rest of the interior remains familiar with Bentley's new 12.3-inch rotating media unit.
Prices and local availability have yet to be confirmed.
