Cape Town City looks forward to the release of Lyle Lakay with Mamelodi Sundowns and BidVest Wits interested in the player.
City owner John Comitis confirmed to TimesLIVE that both clubs had contacted the winger, but he will not rush to lose a "very important player".
"There have been contacts between these two teams and for us now it is important to sit down and think afterwards because Lakay is a very important player for us. "We are not against him, but we need to make sure we have an aligned player who can replace him in our team first."

City has acquired Gift Links and Norodian Riyaad, two wingers who can play on either side of the field, in this transfer window but Comitis wants more coverage Lakay can play in a central role too
Lakay joined City at the beginning of the season coming from Bloemfontein Celtic and participated in 28 of his 30 championship games while the club finished fifth.
He also played in the PSL with SuperSport United.
