An Earth Science instrument built by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and experiments on cell biology and artificial intelligence are part of the research of the International Space Station. : 42 hours EDT.
Dragon took off from a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Station in Florida with over 5,900 pounds of research equipment, equipment, cargo and supplies that will support dozens of investigations aboard the space station. NASA astronauts Ricky Arnold and Drew Feustel will use Canadarm2 robotic arm of the space station to capture Dragon when he arrives at the station. Live coverage of the rendezvous and capture will be broadcast on NASA Television and on the agency's website starting at 2:30 am PDT (5:30 am EDT) on Monday, July 2nd. Installation Coverage Will Start at 6:00 am PDT (9:00 am EDT)
The ECOSystem experiment on JPL's Space Station Space Thermal Radiometer (ECOSTRESS) will provide a new spatial measure of how plants respond changes in the availability of water. These data can help society better manage the agricultural use of water.
ECOSTRESS's unique orbital perch aboard the space station will allow it to observe the same place on Earth every day at different times of the day for at least a year. the ability to track changes in the use of plant water during a typical day, "said ECOSTRESS senior researcher, Simon Hook of JPL. "Today's polar-orbiting satellites can only provide a snapshot of evapotranspiration every day at the same time, and the team is ready to receive our first scientific data, expected early July."
