JOHANNESBURG – Eskom has implemented phase 1 load shedding from noon to 10 pm on Thursday.
This is the second time in less than a month that load shedding is implemented.
The electricity company said consumers should check their load shed schedules on municipal or Eskom websites.

Khulu Phasiwe, spokeswoman for Eskom, said that non-Eskom customers should contact their municipalities to find out the list of areas that would be affected.
In a presentation of its interim results on Wednesday, Eskom said its production capacity is expected to fall further from 72% to less than 50% in Mpumalanga coal-fired power plants, a situation that could intensify power outages.
