How much do South African IT employees make?

CareerJunction published its latest salary survey in South Africa, which details salaries earned in South Africa.

The wage review gives a "fair representation of corporate wages in South Africa," said CareerJunction.

"It contains up-to-date salary information as well as regional differences in monthly pay, using actual salary offers on our website for the last measurable period, from May to November 2018.

The sectors covered in the report include the information technology market and details the salaries of people in positions ranging from software development to UX design.

The graph shows in detail the wage differences between the regions, namely KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Regional differences

The report also detailed regional pay differences in the information technology sector.

Gauteng and the Western Cape are at arm's length with respect to wages and IT demand.

KwaZulu-Natal, however, is far behind, offering 5% to 15% less than average. This is shown in the picture below.
