Cape Town – Midfielder Jan Serfontein says that he still has ambitions to play for the Springboks Rugby World Cup next year in Japan.
The 25-year-old is currently working at the French club in Montpellier and has Netwerk24 during the weekend, he has "a great desire to play for the Boks".
Serfontein's last test was against New Zealand in Cape Town last year, but a rare growth on his thigh prevented him from being called for the June home series against England and the Rugby Championship.
But he is now living in Montpellier after joining the Bulls last year.
"In my last season in South Africa, I tried to play a little more of a role in distribution and decision-making. Here in Montpellier, we have dangerous outside rears like Frans Steyn, Nemani Nadolo, Timoci Nagusa and Benjamin Fall.
"So I try to give them the ball as much as possible. Obviously, I still have to raise the ball from time to time, as expected from the current No. 12, "Serfontein said.
Serfontein played 35 tests with the Springboks between 2013 and 2017 and finished in 24 of those tests with an impressive 71% winning ratio.
