The new Jeep Gladiator was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2018, the American brand describing its double-cabin bakkie to Wrangler as "the best performing medium truck of all time".

Jeep says its new chbadis Gladiator offers "unparalleled capability with the best tow in its clbad and a 4 × 4 payload capacity," as well as a "compound" driving dynamics on the road.

Its off-road capability comes from the brand's 4 × 4 Command-Trac and Rock-Trac systems, third generation Dana 44 axles, Tru-Lock front and rear axle electrical lockers, Trac-Lok limited slip differential, disconnect-bar swing and 33-inch off-road tires.

The Gladiator will be built in Ohio (production is expected to begin in the first half of 2019) in the Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon trim configurations.

A four-bolt design in the top of the windshield frame allows the screen to fold, with a bus bar connecting the front posts and remaining in place. The lightweight aluminum doors feature the size of the Torx drill stamped directly on the hinge (to avoid guessing what drill is needed to remove the doors, Jeep explains).

The Jeep Gladiator will be available with the Pentastar's 3.6L V6 launch engine, paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission, with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission. A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine is expected to join the lineup later, offered exclusively with an eight-speed car.

The newcomer has an approach angle of 43.6 degrees, a tilting angle of 20.3 degrees, a starting angle of 26 degrees and an angle of. a ground clearance of 282 mm. The Gladiator also benefits from a towing capacity of up to 762 mm of water, a maximum payload of 725 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 3,470 kg (with Max towing group specified).
