Learn the code for free on your Apple Store next month

Starting December 1st, you'll be able to learn a little code for free at your local Apple Store. The retailer's annual "Hour of Code" event will take place from December 1st to 14th.

To enjoy it, you will need to sign up for an hour on the Apple website. The sessions are accessible to people of all ages. "Kids Hour" sessions are also available for children from 6 to 12 years old.

What is offered will vary from store to store.

You can see what's available on your store's page on the Apple website. My store, for example, offers a course on how to start coding, as well as a course on coding with Swift Playgrounds. There are also some options for learning how to code robots. For kids, there is an option to make a Sphere Maze Challenge.

In the case of San Francisco, where we have a number of local Apple stores, it lists all the courses located within a reasonable distance of me, not just those of the specific store I've chosen.
