Johannesburg – A month after the death of his father, the son of rapper Jabulani "HHP" Tsambo mourns the death of another parent.
On Monday, Leano's mother, Lerato Khanye, died in a Joburg hospital after a long illness.
Nkululeko Ncana, spokesperson for the family, said, "She was sick. The family is asking for privacy right now. "
He added that his family was now committed to ensuring the well-being of 13-year-old Leano.
Khanye was HHP's long-time girlfriend before meeting his customary wife, Lerato Sengadi.
The rapper Motswako died last month, which provoked a brawl when Sengadi took the family to court on the eve of his burial, demanding that he be buried. Khanye was at the center of the quarrel between the HHP family and Sengadi.
The Tsambo family claimed that the only woman she recognized as Leano's mother was Khanye, and disputed the fact that Sengadi was married to their son.
The High Court in Joburg ruled that Sengadi was in fact HHP's wife, but did not allow him to interrupt the rapper's funeral, as she had planned. Instead, Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng said that, in the spirit of ubuntu, Sengadi should allow the family to organize the funeral and attend.
Earlier this month, Khanye said Leano was traumatized when Sengadi sent two of his friends from his home back to Randpark Ridge, HHP. Sengadi obtained rights to the house located in the upscale suburbs, which Judge Mokgoatlheng accepted as the couple's conjugal home.
Khanye said at the time: "Leano was not there because he had slept at my parents' house. He was broken and could no longer sleep thinking of his friends.
