Manchester United has reached an agreement for Stoke goaltender Lee Grant, sources told ESPN FC.

The 35-year-old should finish at Old Trafford this week to become the third choice behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero allow Joel Pereira to leave the club on loan

Sources told ESPN FC that Spanish clubs and Italian were very interested in Pereira, and that United was ready to listen to the offers of Sam Johnstone, Grant impressed Jose Mourinho in the 1-1 draw of Stoke with United in October 2016.

He made three appearances in the Premier League as a substitute for Jack Butland last season as Stoke. The arrival of Grant will mean that Pereira will be loaned after securing the cover of De Gea and Romero last season.

The 22-year-old man, who signed a new contract last summer, made three appearances for the first team and is highly rated, both at Carrington and Portugal. He will be allowed to negotiate a temporary move with his main candidates for Old Trafford in the foreseeable future.

Dean Henderson, who signed a contract extension last month, has already accepted a loan to Sheffield United.
