McLaren teams up with OnePlus for a scheduled launch in December.
The Formula 1 and McLaren and OnePlus teams announced a new partnership.
The two companies seek to establish a new long-term technological partnership by bringing together the legacy of both brands to launch "something special".
The collaboration between the two brands will take place in India on December 12, 2018 in India. The partnership integrates both McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing, one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1.
Through this collaboration, OnePlus and McLaren seek to establish a new long-term technology partnership by bringing together the legacy of both brands: speed, know-how and innovation.
Pete Lau, CEO and founder of OnePlus, said of the partnership: "McLaren and OnePlus are born in the same way – with a great dream to create something special. Starting from scratch, we challenged ourselves never to settle. Today we unveil a real testament of innovation, a tribute to speed. "

Lamborghini has of course developed its own smartphones over the years, all with high-end price tags that have become less shocking as premium brands reinforcing their premium offering.
In October, Huawei announced its own smartphone inspired sports cars: the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS, which is spreading gradually in various markets, after striking China for the first time on November 17.
Given these trends, it is likely that McLaren and OnePlus are collaborating on a luxury smartphone inspired by McLaren's racing team, at least for the first stage. But while McLaren has a reputation for developing luxury products for those with a large portfolio, OnePlus is renowned for providing high-end devices at a much more affordable cost than the competition. Although this device – even if it is a device – is probably more expensive than previous models, it may still be lower than competitors' flagship products.
