The investigation revealed that meteorites only need to penetrate a few centimeters to release water. Explorers or human colonizers could potentially reach this water. The study was published in Nature Geoscience magazine.
CNN's Mehdi Benna, who works at NASA's Goddard Space Flight, told the CNA that water is "spreading" over the moon.
Scientists have used data from the Lunar Atmosphere Explorer and dust, which gravitates around the moon, for this study.
NASA was badisted by specialists from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland – Baltimore Country.
The existence of water on the moon has been confirmed by earlier lunar probes such as Cbadini and Deep Impact.

However, research on meteorites shows that it is possible to separate them naturally from the soil.
Compared to Earth, the moon is very dry.
A ton of lunar soil and rock contains only 16 ounces of water.
NASA hopes to land again on the Astronauts' Moon in 2028.

Speaking to Washington DC last month, Jim Bridenstine, NASA Administrator, said, "This time, when we go to the moon, we will stay.
"We will not go back to the moon to leave flags and footprints and will not return until after 50 years.
"We will go on forever. Stay."
If the Moon's landing succeeds, NASA plans to send astronauts to Mars.
