Newcastle news: Rafael Benitez insists that every game is a final

Newcastle United must continue to treat every game "like a final" after recording a third consecutive victory in the Premier League, according to coach Rafael Benitez.

Despite Matt Ritchie's claim to the loss of the season, Toon finished in 13th place with Ben Mee's goal and Ciaran Clark's lead.

"Every game is like a final," Benitez told BBC Sport.

"We were working in the week trying to manage the two big attacking centers in Burnley and the players played very well.

"The most important thing for us is to make sure that we can get something out of these games, we now have confidence and the players will continue to push and work hard."

A fourth home defeat of the Premier League season gives Burnley a point and a place over the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche, boss of Burnley, felt that his team sometimes played well against Newcastle, despite a drop of 2-0 in the first 23 minutes. The striker of the Clarets, Sam Vokes, tried to equalize in depth in the second period.

"There was an unfortunate goal and then a poor goal," said Dyche, whose team conceded fifteen times in five games to Sky Sports.

"I'm happy with many aspects of our performance, we mixed our game and we created opportunities, but the margins are weak.

"All in all, we probably deserved something, but once you've given those goals, it's hard to lose 2-0 in the Premier League, the mentality was excellent, but I'm obviously very frustrated with the result."
