Now, Banyana Banyana also bows on the biggest stage of the game of the same country at the 2019 Women's World Cup next June.
Banyana Banyana secured a place in the world standings with a 2-0 win over Mali on Tuesday night in the semifinals of the African Nations Women's Cup in Ghana.
Thembi Kgatlana opened the scoring in the 31st minute, while Lebohang Ramalepe sealed the deal at the end of the second.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has teamed up with the rest of the country to congratulate coach Desiree Ellis and his team.

Sports Minister, Tokozile Xasa, added in a statement that the Banyana "once again proved that they were the team of the year.This win will go a long way in motivating our girls to choose football as the sport of choice ".

Former Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula described the South African team as "a real group of winners", while Bafana had already been dubbed "losers group".
"Thank you for making us a proud, always incredible nation."
Minister of Public Administration and Administration Ayanda Dlodlo also voiced support for Captain Janine van Wyk's team.
"The story was made !!! Congratulations to the South African women's football team @Banyana_Banyana for their World Cup qualifying record. You have made this country very proud. "
Banyana will face Nigeria in Saturday's final in Ghana (shot from 6 pm).
