Rbadie Erasmus said he had spoken to Duane Vermeulen about an atrium during last Saturday's test in Cardiff, with the sole purpose of checking an injury.
There was much speculation after Vermeulen was shown using a helmet, apparently to contact Bok coaching staff in the middle of the second half of the clash against Wales.
according to Netwerk24Erasmus said it had nothing to do with the transmission of tactical instructions, but rather whether Vermeulen could continue to play.
"I saw how Duane was injured in the shoulder and was holding him, while the doctor and physio were busy looking after other players," he said. Erasmus.
"[Conditioning coach] Aled [Walters] did not see him, but since he was close to Duane, I asked him to ask him if he was ok. Duane could not understand why he was asking for it and said that he wanted to talk to me quickly himself. He said that his shoulder was too painful to keep playing. & # 39;
Vermeulen confirmed on Twitter that he had dislocated in the shoulder earlier in the game.
That's right since I dislocated my shoulder in the first period. https://t.co/mztL8l3dXb
