Johannesburg – KwaZulu-Natal police said she was still looking for a taxi driver in Inanda who allegedly killed her ex-girlfriend in front of her family in Inanda, north of Durban last week.

The suspect reportedly stabbed Mbalenhle Cele, 24, to death in her bedroom at her home in Inanda. It has not been seen since.

Colonel Thembeka Mbele, KZN police spokesman, said on Friday that there was still no arrest in this case. "No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation," she said.

The reason the police were not able to find the suspect whose face was widely broadcast on social networks by Cele's cousin, Sthe Nyanda.

"That guy is somewhere in somebody who's hiding! Who protects a murderer? Do you like it, whoever you are, do what's right?" "That person is a monster, send it to the cops," she wrote to Facebook earlier this week.

Cele's mother, Nonhlanhla, told the Daily News earlier this week that the family was struggling to cope with Mbalenhle's death. Nyanda, on the other hand, said she was aware of the difficult relationship between Mbalenhle and the suspect and reiterated that she was considering giving him a route to escape to Johannesburg.

"I told her that all she needed was money to come here to Johannesburg and get some air. I was very shocked when I received the call Wednesday that she was dead, "she told the
Daily News.
