Audi unveiled its new e-tron GT concept at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, revealing that a serial version should follow in "about two years".
The all-electric production model will follow the e-tron SUV and the Audi e-tron Sportback which is scheduled to launch in 2019. The GT concept measures 4,960 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,380 mm long. height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm.
Interestingly, the company has described the platform at the base of the concept as a "joint project of the development departments of Audi and Porsche".
The four-door car makes 434 kW thanks to separate electric motors (synchronous permanent excitation) mounted on the front and rear axles. According to Audi, the vehicle "should accelerate" from zero to 100 km / h in "about 3.5 seconds", before reaching 200 km / h in "just over 12 seconds". The maximum speed is limited to 240 km / h.
Audi claims that the four-seater concept car's autonomy is greater than 400 km (on the new WLTP cycle). The energy comes from a 90+ kWh lithium-ion battery, which occupies the entire area under the floor between the front and rear axles. The Ingolstadt-based company claims that the battery in the GT e-tron concept can be charged using a wireless cable or charge.
The Audi e-tron GT concept offers two luggage compartments. At the rear, the trunk can store 450 liters claimed, the second compartment under the hood can hold an additional 100 liters.
