Cape Town – The Waratahs are on the point of reaching an agreement to secure the services of the South African lock The Roux Roets.

Aged 23, who played in France for Racing 92 between 2016 and 2017, he has been with the Pumas since the beginning of this year and competed in the 2018 Currie Cup.

But, according to Rugby.com.au, Waratahs coach, Daryl Gibson, is about to get a transfer to Sydney for the Roets.

Roets, which measures 2.00 m in height and weighs about 135 kg, has not yet finalized the agreement with the Waratahs, but the report says that there has been contact.

The Australian Super Rugby franchises are ready to manage their Wallabies players with care in 2019. This is a World Cup year. This is why Gibson is looking for reinforcements from outside the country.

"We're keen to fill that point, this lock, and we're looking for that lock profile in which we want to give ourselves a bit more size," Gibson said.

"We think we have found this person and we have to announce it soon."
