Comedian and host Trevor Noah of the Daily Show recently found himself in a social media storm after a joke he made on his show.
Noah sneered at the conflict between Pakistan and India, then was criticized by those who called his joke "racist, stereotypical and downright offensive."
Noah said: "I hope that India and Pakistan will not go to war, but if they did, it would be the most entertaining war of all time, because Indian soldiers would rush onto the battlefield and shoot singing and dancing. "
He then sang "time for you to die" with an Indian accent and accompanied the words "beat" with an Indian beat to show how he thought Indian soldiers would behave on the battlefield.
He added: "It would also be the longest war of all time".
This is just bad and despicable. You have denounced racial injustice, violence against women, fanaticism and colonial oppression in the past. And now @Trevornoah you defeated everything you pretended to represent with this racist, insensitive and ignorant attempt at a quick gag. #TrevorNoah pic.twitter.com/L397Q7pTIc

The comedian was referring to Bollywood films, which were mostly longer, because they incorporated singing and dancing, but some of his fans and fans were not impressed.
Noah went to Twitter after the shock to defend his joke and said that people were more angry at his joke than the conflict itself.
"It's amazing to me that my joke about the conflict in India and Pakistan is more likely than the story of the conflict itself. Sometimes it seems that jokes made by comedians about a problem are more shocking than the problem itself, "he said.
I find it amazing that my joke about the conflict in India and Pakistan has had a deeper trend than the history of the conflict itself. Sometimes it seems that jokes made by comedians about a problem are more shocking than the problem itself.

Another Twitter user, Zainab Sikander, asked Noah how he would have felt if someone had made a joke about his mother's shooting.
"It's sad when a person who has had a violent past mocks the war with a stereotype of Bollywood. @ Trevornoah's mother was shot in the head by her husband (Trevor's father-in-law). Imagine someone who mocks him with a Xhosa stereotype – the tribe his mother belongs to, "she said.
But Noah said that he had made a joke about the incident because comedy was his way of dealing with pain, and that he apologized to those who were offended by his joke.
In fact, if you look at my standing position, you will see that I made jokes after my mother was hit in the head. As a comedian, I use comedy to treat the pain and discomfort of my world, but I'm sorry it hurt you, to you and to other people, this n & # 39; That's not what I was trying to do. https://t.co/OuVnkHyIfG

There were also those who defended him and said that they saw nothing wrong with his joke.
It's sad how much people are unable to take a joke like a joke. I mean chill out everyone! It was just a joke! That's a joke! I am sorry in the name of all those pathetic and desperate souls who can not appreciate someone who spreads happiness and gives these idiots a reason to laugh!
