CEO of Vodacom Group Shameel Joosub gained 23.9% less during the 2019 fiscal year, after drawing substantially less money in the short and long term incentives.

Joosub achieved a total turnover of 38.3 million rand in 2019 (21 million after tax), compared to 50.3 million rand (27.7 million after tax) for the year 2018, annual report of Vodacom, published on Friday its website, shows.

His guaranteed salary increased by 7.9% to 11.3 million rand, although his short-term bonus was reduced by 21% to 9.8 million rand from 12.4 million rand previously. Long-term incentive awards paid decreased by 46.1%, from 22.7 million to 201.2 million rand in 2018.

The annual report indicates that Joosub received dividends of 5 million rand, up 4.6% from the previous 4.8 million rand (see table below).

At the same time, CFO Till Streichert received a total pre-tax remuneration of £ 819,000 (approximately R15.5 million at the time of writing) and an additional R1.1 million. His guaranteed package was £ 373,000, up from £ 353,000 previously.
