JOHANNESBURG – The state capture investigation revealed that former finance minister Pravin Gordhan had warned former president Jacob Zuma about buying nuclear power.

Former Treasury Director Lungisa Fuzile said that Gordhan had told Zuma that any deal should be concluded "according to the rules".

If not, Gordhan would have said that it could give the impression that the arms market looked like a picnic.

The Treasury concluded that the purchase of nuclear power would be financially unsustainable.

It was expected that the debt service of such a project could reach 95% of GDP by 2040, but some were not interested in the Treasury report.

The eNCA reporter, Erin Bates, has more information about the story in the video above.
