Whiteley, Coetzee Engage for Lions for Another Year

Lions captain Warren Whiteley and centerback Andries Coetzee will stay in Johannesburg for the upcoming Super Rugby campaign while both signed new one – year contract extensions.

JOHANNESBURG – Lions captain Warren Whiteley and centerback Andries Coetzee will stay in Johannesburg for the upcoming Super Rugby campaign as both have signed new one-year contract extensions.

Whiteley and Coetzee follow scrum half Ross Cronje as the last players to get their hands on the paper, following a number of club outings, including Jaco Kriel and Franco Mostert.

Whiteley and Coetzee stated that they were happy to stay at the union after the Rugby World Cup in order to increase their chances of selection for the flagship event of rugby in Japan in 2019.
