Yesterday, users reported that a new cumulative update was being deployed on Windows 10 October 2018. The update devices registered in the Insider program, but the change log were not available at that time.
Today, Microsoft has shared more details on version 17763.167 for Windows 10 version 1809, revealing that they have corrected tons of bugs in this release. It is likely that the same patches will be released next month on or before Tuesday.
According to the change log published in a blog post, this update fixes a bug that reset the Brightness slider preference to 50% when the device reboots. Microsoft has also addressed the issue that mapped drivers may not work properly and may not reconnect after booting and connecting to a Windows device.

- Resolves an issue in Microsoft Edge with the use of the drag-and-drop feature to download Windows desktop folders to a file hosting service Web site, such as Microsoft OneDrive. In some scenarios, downloading files contained in folders fails and no errors are reported to the user on the web page.
- Fixes a problem that degrades the performance of Internet Explorer when you use roaming profiles or you do not use the Microsoft compatibility list.
- Address updated time zone information for Fiji.
- Address the time zone changes for the daylight saving time of Morocco.
- Address the time zone changes for the Russian time zone.
- Resolves an issue that caused display settings to stop when changing a multi-monitor configuration.
- Fixes a problem that displays a black screen on some servers when waking up a display.
- Resolves a serious delay problem in taking pictures when you use the camera application under certain lighting conditions.
- Fixes a problem that prevents live content from Hulu TV from playing in Microsoft Edge; instead, a black screen appears.
- Resolves an issue that prevents Bluetooth® headsets from receiving audio input after several minutes of listening.
- Resolves an issue that resets the Brightness slider preference to 50% when the device reboots.
- Resolves an issue with OEM manufacturing processes when running sysprep / generalize.
- Fixes a problem with Microsoft Intune that incorrectly caused devices to be marked as noncompliant because a firewall did not correctly return the "Bad" status. As a result, affected devices will not receive conditional access compliance approval and access to corporate resources, such as e-mail, may be blocked.
- Resolves a performance issue related to vSwitch on network interface cards that do not support large upload dumps (LSO) and control offloading (CSO).
- Updates the Wi-Fi strategy for Service Set Identifier (SSID) filtering to avoid filtering Wi-Fi Direct devices.
- Fixes a problem that causes rasman.exe to stop responding.
- Fixes a problem in which regedit.exe fails to add a null null terminator to the REG_MULTI_SZ values in the Windows registry. The missing terminator may prevent services and applications from reading the REG_MULTI_SZ values added by regedit.exe after the installation of the operating system.
- Resolves a RemoteApp visibility issue that may cause the main window to disappear until the user clicks on the screen.
- Resolves an issue that prevents some users from setting Win32 program defaults for certain application and file type combinations using the Open With … command or Settings> Applications> Default Applications.
- Fixes a problem that may prevent the reconnection of mapped drives after booting and connecting to a Windows device.
The company is not aware of known issues in this update, and the same or newer version may be released to the general public next month with additional fixes.
