Cape Town – World Rugby plans to limit the use of the official television match (TMO) and give more power to referees on the field.

This follows an examination of the TMO system announced last week by the southern hemisphere's governing body, SANZAAR, admitting "some challenges" during the Super Rugby and the June Test
World Rugby Brett Gosper was competing at the Rugby World Cup in San Francisco last weekend where he said that changes could come as early as November.
"There is probably too much confidence right now on the TMO," Gosper said, as quoted by Reuters .
"The feeling in the room is that we would like the referees, themselves, to take a little more control.It's something we're going to work through."
In SANZAAR statement last week, his CEO Andy Marinos recognizing that change was necessary.
