"I'm happy that he took possession of the premises and said that he was wrong," Scalise said.
A 2017 attack left Scalise seriously injured on a baseball field in Virginia.
The attack by James Hodgkinson, who supported Senator Bernie Sanders, specifically targeted members of the Republican House during their training at the baseball game of Congress.
Scalise did say that the top Democratic leaders did not denounce liberal violence.
"You do not see any of them denouncing it. … you do not see the left condemning him. "
