A large area of high pressure will continue to expand in the north during the night, and finally focus on New England on Tuesday night, paving the way for a major winter storm on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the weather will remain calm all night from Monday to Tuesday and for much of Tuesday, in other words the proverbial calm before the storm.

Through tonight: Becoming rather clear and cold tonight. Northwesterly winds will remain gusty (25 km / h), before relaxing a little (10-15 mph) at night. The lowest temperatures will fall in mid-twenties in most places, and more than 20 in the city center. Wind chill values will plunge into the lowest 20 degrees sometimes in the hours before dawn.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): A cool but sunny day. The sky will usually be sunny for most of the day, before the clouds begin to rise towards the end of the afternoon. It's hot seasonally, with peaks ranging from 30 to 40 at the lowest and a light northwest wind at 5-10 mph. The snow covers the area late Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning, with several centimeters possible throughout the region. Minimal in the first 20 with a wind light east at 5 mph.

It snowed again in Las Vegas: For the second time this month, snow has fallen around the Las Vegas area. Including the snowfall on February 10, this is the first time McCarran International Airport has recorded several days of measurable snow in the same month since February 1987.
Overall, Las Vegas has been locked in a rather wet pattern. Last night's snowfall marked the fifth consecutive day of measurable precipitation at the airport, almost equaling the record of consecutive days with recorded precipitation.
