A WandaVision spin-off revolving around the character of Agatha Harkness who would see Catherine hahn reprise her role as the MCU’s Last Witch and Villainous Villain is currently in development at Disney +, per Variety. The project is currently described as a dark comedy.

WandaVision head writer and executive producer Jac schaeffer is reportedly returning to helm Agatha Harkness’s spinoff series as a writer and EP. If he advances to the streamer, it would be the first project Schaeffer has in development since the writer signed his global deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Century Television in May.

At WandaVision, Hahn played the role of the seemingly innocent and unpretentious neighbor Agnes, who appeared to be just another member of the Town of Westview under the direction of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth olsen) to spell. However, she inevitably turned out to be the witch Agatha Harkness (with her own fabulous theme song, naturally), who had her own evil machinations to interfere with the idyllic storyline that Wanda had created for herself – namely, tapping into the source of The Extraordinary Powers of Scarlet Witch.

Although Agatha was ultimately defeated at the end of the series and seemingly locked in a mental prison created by Wanda, her character had by then become a fan favorite, with her theme song “Agatha All Along” (from Frozen teachers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert lopez) ultimately won the show an Emmy for Best Original Music and Lyrics.

So far, Marvel Studios has not made an official comment on the potential fallout. Stay tuned to Collider for more information on any development, including whether the project will move forward. WandaVision is currently available to stream in its entirety on Disney +.
