KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 4 – As more and more international airlines impose restrictions on the recalled MacBook Pro, several Malaysian-based airlines have announced a similar ban as a security measure. A few months ago, Apple issued a recall notice for a limited number of MacBook Pro 15 "that may contain batteries that may overheat and pose a fire hazard.
If your 15-inch MacBook Pro is on the recall list, you are not allowed to register and transport the aircraft on Malindo Air and AirAsia flights. Passengers who can provide official documentation that the battery has been replaced as part of the recall program will be allowed to bring the affected MacBook Pro on board.
For Malaysia Airlines, you are not allowed to bring the affected MacBook Pro in your checked baggage. However, you can still travel with it, but it must be placed in carry-on baggage until further notice. As with other airlines, you must present documentation or receipts during check-in or boarding to prove that the battery has been replaced.

If you are unsure whether your MacBook Pro is concerned, you can check the serial number on the Apple website. According to Apple, the problem concerns a small number of 15-inch MacBook Pro units sold between September 2015 and February 2017. Apple replaces the battery for free through its authorized Apple service provider, which can last from three to five days. – SoyaCincau
