Airbus has signed an agreement with China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS) for 300 aircraft worth several tens of billions of euros at list price.

Signed in Paris by Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus Commercial Aircraft and future CEO of Airbus; and Jia Baojun, President of CAS, the agreement covers the purchase of 290 A320neo family aircraft from an undisclosed outage and 10 A350 widebody aircraft.

As evidenced by the image below, Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron attended the signing ceremony.

Airbus predicts that between 2018 and 2037, the Chinese aviation sector will need 7,400 new passenger and cargo aircraft, or 19% of total world demand during this period.

Guillaume Faury thought about the order and said the following:

"We are honored to support the growth of Chinese civil aviation with our major families of aircraft – single-aisle and wide-body aircraft. Our growing presence in China demonstrates our long-term confidence in the Chinese market and our long-term commitment to China and our partners. "

Airbus notes that the A320 family, including the neo, has racked up more than 14,600 orders during its lifetime, making it one of the best-selling aircraft of narrow-body aircraft.

Due to the anonymity of the Airbus A320neo order distribution, it is not possible to determine which of the two engines was selected from the Pratt and Whitney Geared Turbofan and CFM International LEAP engines.

The A350 is powered exclusively by the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine, which offers variable thrust flexibility depending on the version of the chosen aircraft.
