NEWARK, NJ (WABC) – A plane at Newark airport was evacuated Saturday morning after flight attendants reported a suspicious photo.

A source close to the investigation told Eyewitness News that two flight attendants had received the photo of a suicide vest on their iPhone and that they had been dropped by plane, prior to the accident. go and inform the captain.

The incident was reported around 0750 on JetBlue Flight 573 to Tampa.

About 150 passengers were taken from the plane on the tarmac by stairs and were led to a boarding gate to board another plane.

The K9 units sniffed in the plane and the luggage was removed and re – checked.

Police detectives from the port authority are investigating the origin of the photo.
