The most notable feature of FreeBuds is adaptive noise cancellation (ANC), an unusual feature in helmets of this size. Huawei says FreeBuds are able to reduce ambient noise by 15 decibels.
It's not huge, but it's hard to get more with open earphones in-ear. Assuming rumors about third generation AirPods with ANC are true, they will likely offer similar noise suppression performance. The new generation AirPods would also be more water resistant, although existing models give better results than expected in this regard.
Huawei also claims a faster charge than the AirPods and reduce external noise when using microphones.
Huawei opted for an open ear tip with stems, stowed in a circular and shiny black and white case. The FreeBuds 3 has four hours of autonomy and 20 hours of overtime with the case. Huawei says FreeBuds load 100% faster than AirPods 2 or 50% faster if they're wirelessly charged […]
Bone conduction technology lets you know when you're talking and, combined with a new microphone conduit, can block the wind and allow you to continue your conversation, even if you're traveling 20 kilometers at the time.
If it's the black color that pleases you the most, there are options for AirPods. ColorWare offers AirPods 2 in a choice of 64 finishes, with gloss and dullness options. If you want something cheaper, there are AirPods skins; at the other end of the scale there are 18-carat solid gold stones – although they are just one piece, you must persuade their creator to separate them.
Of course, AirPod clones can not offer Apple's H1 chip for the easiest pairing experience and fast switching between devices.
