Still present, Al Roker offers fans an update on his battle with prostate cancer.
“I am relieved to inform you that my #prostatecancer surgery is over and [I’m] back home, ”Roker wrote on Twitter Thursday night. “[A] big thank you to everyone at #josierobertsonsurgerycenter and appreciate all the thoughts and wishes from our viewers and the wonderful care packages from my colleagues. See you soon. “
The “Today” co-host, 66, revealed his diagnosis last week on the show and said he would be taking time off for surgery.
“This is good news, bad news,” he explained. “The good news is that we figured it out early on, it’s not good news, is it’s a little aggressive, so I’m going to take some time to deal with it.”
Roker immediately received a surge of support from his co-stars and fans on the “Today” show after the reveal. “We know you’re going to beat this prostate cancer and be back in no time,” co-host Savannah Guthrie wrote on social media.
“I have to thank each of you for your prayers, support and best wishes,” he said in a video posted to Instagram on November 9.
