Alabama leaps in rankings after 30-point victory at LSU

The impact of LSU’s record-breaking Alabama rout is felt the next morning as expectations continue to rise for this team.

The Crimson Tide has moved up to No.11 in the NET rankings used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. He was 18th before LSU’s switch to 105-75 on Tuesday in Baton Rouge.

It follows an eighth straight win for an Alabama program that hasn’t done so in a row since 2002.

Alabama (12-3, 7-0 SEC) climbed to No.9 in the CBS Sports version of RPI.

Ken Pomeroy’s odds pushed Alabama to 10th place within minutes of winning at LSU.

The Tide broke their own SEC record with 23 3-pointers in one night unlike anything Coach Nate Oats has seen.

“No, I never…” Oats said. “It was a bit crazy.

Next stop for Alabama is Mississippi State NET # 93 at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. The Bulldogs are 9-6, 4-3 in the SEC.

The highest-rated team on Alabama’s remaining schedule is NET No. 23 Missouri.
