Alabama postpones its 50th anniversary tour with the Beach Boys, including Wichita stopover

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The ALABAMA group of the Country Music Hall of Fame will not be coming to Wichita in November.

The band announced Tuesday that it was postponing the rest of its "50th Anniversary Tour" because of persistent complications of singer Randy Owen, related to migraines and vertigo.

The group hoped to continue its record-breaking tour in 50 cities, however, doctors advised more time is needed for Owen to fully recover.

Teddy Gentry, bassist and singer of ALABAMA, issued the following statement:

"The 50th Anniversary Tour has been very special for us, and the fans' support and energy at each of our concerts have made some of the most fun moments of our lives as disappointing as myself, Randy and Jeff has to postpone this tour for all his incredible fans, we know that Randy's recovery is the most important thing for everyone right now, we want to thank our fans, our promoters and our venues, and we look forward to seeing you see you soon. "

Once again, the band had to play with the Beach Boys in Wichita on November 2nd at INTRUST Bank Arena.

The postponed dates of the tour will be announced in the coming weeks.
