Alabama's Gasoline Tax: How Did Your Legislature Vote?

[ad_1]

Governor Kay Ivey signed the Alabama Infrastructure Reconstruction Plan after the House of States and Senate approved the 10 cent tax increase on gasoline .

The increase will be spread over three years: an increase of 6 cents after August 31; an increase of 2 cents per gallon on October 1, 2020; and the same thing on October 1, 2021. The tax is now 18 cents a gallon for gasoline and 19 cents for diesel.

The proceeds will go towards financing infrastructure improvements around the state.
