10:48 am: Bohm tested positive for COVID-19, Girardi told reporters (including Athletic’s Matt Gelb). He will remain in isolation for at least ten days.

10:17 am: The Phillies announced they placed the starting pitcher Aaron Nola, third baseman Alec bohm and lifters Connor brogdon and Bailey Falter on the COVID-19 injured list. infielder Nick maton and pitchers Mauricio Llovera, Damon jones and Christophe Sánchez have been called back to replace them on the active list.

Bohm was removed from last night’s game under health and safety protocols. There is no confirmation that he or any of the other players involved tested positive for COVID-19. Players can be placed on COVID-19 IL for exposure to the virus or to experience virus-like symptoms. There is no minimum pass on COVID IL.

Nola was due to start this afternoon’s game against the Red Sox. It’s unclear who will get the ball, although it seems likely that manager Joe Girardi will lead some sort of impromptu game in the relieving pen. With the All-Star Break starting tomorrow, the Phils can take advantage of a handshake to get through today’s competition and reassess the pitching staff ahead of their doubles program with the Marlins next Friday.
