ARLINGTON, Texas – Star Championship Player Alex Bregman left the Houston Texas game on Thursday night after a ground ball rebounded and hit his chin.

Manager A.J. Hinch said during an interview in the game broadcast on ESPN that it seemed that Bregman's chin was cracked. Hinch said that Bregman wanted to stay in the match, but the team made him go out for it to be examined by a doctor.

Bregman was playing the short game and was heading to the middle of the infield in the third inning when he went to attack a ground player hit by Shin-Soo Choo. The ball took a late high high and caught Bregman on the lower half of his face, and there seemed to be blood when a coach looked after him.

Bregman is the third baseball player in Houston, but he's been playing since Carlos Correa on the list of the wounded.

Myles Straw replaced Bregman at the short stop.
