ARLINGTON – Alex Bregman is not in the lineup for Friday night's game against the Rangers as the Astros evaluate him for a head injury.
Bregman jumped out of the third round on Thursday night. The impact of the bullet blew the blood and left him disoriented. He raised his hands to his temples and made long flashes. He seemed to complain of jaw pain. He was forced out of the game and replaced by Myles Straw at the short stop.

Bregman saw a specialist after the match that determined that Bregman was not suffering from a concussion, according to manager A.J. Hinch.
Part of the medical protocol required monitoring Bregman another day to see how he was reacting to pre-game activities.
"Alex is fine," Hinch said Friday. "He has been evaluated several times."
Hinch did not know if Bregman would be ready to play on Saturday.
"All the signs are very positive," said Hinch. "He's going to take BP and organize some balls on the ground and get through what we hope will be the last part of this evaluation before we consider him eligible to play."
