The Boston Red Sox made a series of changes Monday afternoon, noting that Eduardo Nunez had been appointed for this mission.
The utility field fighter was battling for Boston this season, hitting just .228 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 174 playoffs this season. This decision comes as the Red Sox attempt to narrow the gap between Oakland Athletics and last place in the Wild Card.

Sam Travis has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket as a corresponding move, and will likely play the first goal with a southpaw on the hill.
