Alex Cora of the Red Sox provokes strong reactions during the extension of the talks of Chris Sale

Alex Cora wants Chris Sale in Boston for more reason.

The left-handed star is about to enter the final year of his contract, but Red Sox chairman Tom Werner revealed on Monday that both parties had started private conversations about an extension. If Sale remained in Boston in the long run would ensure an asset in the club's rotation for years to come, it would also offer Cora and Co. an added benefit.

Cora on a potential sales extension: "That would be great. Another guy to pay for the dinners. Said Sale is the perfect guy for a team.

Given the lucrative deal that Sale will surely receive whenever the time comes, it's safe to say that the veteran lefty will have no trouble picking up the tabs.

And while gastronomy in Boston is probably not an important factor, Sale has publicly stated that he "would like" to stay with the Red Sox in the future.
