Fans will be able to see episodes of Jeopardy! hosted by the late Alex Trebek until Christmas Day, although Thursday’s episode did come home in a pretty special way.
Thursday marks World Pancreatic Cancer Day, the same disease Trebek died from at the age of 80, with the host delivering a special message before the show.
Although Trebek never mentioned his own plight with pancreatic cancer in the post, he urged all his fans to heed the warning signs.

“Before getting into today’s game, a word on today. Today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, ”Trebek began.
“If you or someone you know has developed some of the symptoms that I have talked about in the past, then by all means see a doctor, get tested,” he added.
“I want you to be safe. It is a terrible and terrible disease, ”concluded Trebek.

The Twitter Jeopardy also shared a post on World Pancreatic Cancer Day, including a photo of Trebek with his wife Jean.
“Today is #WorldPancreaticCancerDay. Wear purple in honor of Alex and help raise awareness of the risks and symptoms of pancreatic cancer, ” the tweet read, with the hashtag #ItsAboutTime by tagging @worldpcc.
The photo also included a quote from Trebek’s wife Jean, who said: ‘It’s time we stop taking the preciousness of every day for granted and start living the experience of kindness to the fullest. and consistency. ”

Trebek revealed in March 2019 that he had been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer and, although his prognosis was not very good, he still planned to fight the disease.
He offered another update in May, saying he was responding well to treatment and that some of the tumors had halved.
Trebek died on November 8, with the show confirming that he had filmed episodes until October 29, with his final episode scheduled to air on Christmas Day.

Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, Trebek began his career with the CBC in the 1960s before moving to America.
He hosted a number of game shows including High Rollers, The Wizard of Odds, and The $ 128,000 Question throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
He started hosting Jeopardy! in 1984, and at one point hosted three shows at the same time, Jeopardy !, Classic Concentration and To Tell the Truth, the first person to host three shows at the same time.
