Alex Trebek’s widow Jean thanks fans of her late husband for their support after his passing.
The iconic “Jeopardy!” the host died Sunday at the age of 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
“Jeopardy! Is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends ”, the show wrote on its Twitter account. “Thanks, Alex.”
Today, just days after the star’s death, Jean expresses his gratitude.

In an Instagram post, she shared a photo from her 1990 wedding to the TV personality.
She was wearing a white dress and a small hat over her veil. Trebek also wore a white suit with a black bow tie.
In the photo, Trebek appeared to be slipping a ring on his bride’s finger.
“My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity,” she said in the photo caption. “Your expressions really touched our hearts. Thank you very, very much.”
John signed his message by writing “Many blessings to all”.

Fans offered even more love in the comments to the post.
“Alex was like a good friend 5 days a week … NO ONE can replace him on JEOPARDY!” we wrote. “He was truly loved and will be missed … may he RIP”
“I send you a lot of love and light,” said another.
A third added: “Pray for all of you … send you my deepest condolences and love. Alex was truly one of a kind.”
Trebek and Jean share two children: Matthew, 29, and Emily, 27. Trebek also has a daughter, Nicky, 53, from a previous marriage.

“With Jean, it happened,” Trebek wrote in his memoir “The answer is… Thoughts on my life,” by People magazine.
