Alexa yellow ring: here's how to check your messages on your Echo

If you have an Alexa device such as Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot or Amazon Echo Plus, you know they are some of the smartest gadgets on the planet thanks to their built-in personal assistant. Unfortunately, because of their intelligence, they often gain functionality overnight and forget to talk about it.

An example of this is when Amazon added voice mail from Alexa-to-Alexa devices. It has been in place for over two years now, but people still do not know exactly how it works and when they have a new message.

This is where the Yellow Alexa ring enter.

Alexa yellow ring: What is it?

The good news is that yellow light is not a mistake, it is not disturbing.

In fact, when the light on the top edge of your echo turns yellow, it means that you receive a message – this one is sent to you by another Amazon Echo device. This can happen because you may have subscribed to echo mail echo and you do not even remember it, and someone you know has sent you a message.

How to check my messages?

To check your messages on an Amazon Echo, you do one of two things: Ask Alexa to read them by saying "Alexa, read me my posts" or check the Amazon Alexa app you installed on your phone during the setup process.

Generally, we prefer to let Alexa read us the message – because we live in the future! – But if you are far from your device, the app also works.

How can I return a message?

The first thing to do is to make sure that all your contacts are imported from the address book of your phone or tablet. You can do this by accessing the Alexa application and the 'Communicate' tab. Once you are there, tap the person's icon in the upper right corner.

Once you have imported all your contacts, to send a message – as for everything on an echo – you just have to ask Alexa. Say "Alexa, send a message to …" and say the name of one of your contacts. Once Alexa can associate the contact correctly, he will ask you what you want the message to say and you can say it.

Once you are satisfied with your message, you can send it and your friend will now have a yellow light to discover – and the cycle will continue.
