In the weeks leading up to the launch of the Galaxy S10, we found leaks suggesting that the phone's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor would need a cut-out in the shields to work. But then we learned that this would no longer be a problem for Galaxy S10 phones and that screen protectors should work properly with the phone, provided that they are certified by Samsung. Since then, Samsung has confirmed that all phones would come with a preinstalled screen protector. This means that the screen will be protected right out of the box and that the built-in fingerprint sensor will work from the first day.

"Samsung's next flagship product, the Galaxy S10, will come with a factory-installed screen protector manufactured by Samsung," the company said in a note posted on its community website. "This applies to all global subsidiaries and all variants of the Galaxy S10. This decision was made to enhance the overall customer experience through the increased durability of the screen and the full functionality of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 +.

A first version of the message indicated that the screen protectors would be accompanied by a 90-day limited warranty, but the note now indicates that it will not be covered by the warranty. All other accessories in the box are covered by one year of normal warranty.

Samsung says it will also offer customers screen protector replacements at a retail price of $ 29.99. The company also noted that your mileage could vary with other screen protectors. "To ensure the full functionality of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 +, Samsung strongly encourages its operator and retail partners to offer Samsung branded screen protectors as an option." in-store replacement purchase, "said Samsung. "We can not guarantee experience with traditional glass and polyurethane screen protectors."

Three of the four Samsung Galaxy S10 releases launched last week are available for pre-order in various markets and will be shipped on March 8 – here's our review.
